Sports Recap Nov. 1-6

Varsity football played Kilgore and lost with a score of 58-65 on Friday, making them district runner-ups. 

Senior Sam Peterson had 411 passing yards with a 74% completion rate and scored four touchdowns. Junior Alex Romero had nine tackles including six solo tackles and three assisted tackles.

“This is exciting because we are starting a new season,” head football coach Chris Cochran said. “Every week is a one game season because it is win or go home. ”

The varsity volleyball team played Sunnyvale on Saturday and lost 2-3.

Senior Alondra Romero had 23 digs and one ace. Senior Brendly Philen had 13 kills, one ace, and seven blocks.

In their eyes you could see confidence and determination. They truly believed in themselves and their teammates. I couldn’t have asked for better leadership.”
