FAFSA Night has been rescheduled to Monday, April 8 from 4:30-7 p.m. Several Financial Aid Specialists will be on campus to help walk students through the FAFSA application.
“There is no official due date for FAFSA as it is recommended it is completed as soon as possible,” counselor Tamica Collard said. “Completing the FAFSA helps colleges, universities, junior colleges, and trade schools determine what kind of grants, scholarships, and loans you may qualify for.”
FAFSA helps students obtain financial aid and is also a graduation requirement. Students and parents need to create an FSA ID which will take three days to be verified, so students should complete this in advance.
“This helps you fund your education after high school,” Collard said. “The earlier you begin the process the better.”
Students will need the following to submit the FAFSA application:
– FSA ID for both student AND parent
– 2022 Federal Income Tax Return(s) for parent & student
– All 2022 W2 wage statements and/or 1099 forms
– Net worth from parents’ current business and investments
– The month and year parents were married, separated, or divorced
– Child Support Received or Paid, Workers Compensation, Social Security, Disability amount(s) received, or Other Income (Rental Income, Investment Income, Farm/Livestock)
– If you are not a US Citizen but are a permanent resident, your Alien registration # is requested from your resident card.
