The boys golf team hosted their home tournament Monday in Hideaway. The team placed third overall and coach Derek Dukes became the new boys golf coach.

“It was a great result for our boys,” Dukes said. “They battled tough conditions and stayed focused and I’m extremely proud of their effort.”

Senior Tobin Phillips shot a 73 and placed second. Junior Jackson Pullin shot a 76 which landed him in a four way tie for third, but lost in a scorecard playoff.

“I felt confident going into the tournament,” Phillips said. “I did a lot better than I thought I would honestly and I enjoyed the competition the other competitors brought to the tournament.”
