Coronation will start at 7 pm February 21 in the Performing Arts Center, and Winter Formal will be held immediately afterwards at the First United Methodist Church of Lindale. The theme for Coronation is “Arabian Nights” and the theme for Winter Formal is “Putting on the Ritz”.
“I’m the director of Coronation,” drill team director Keri Pierce said. “It’s a fundraiser for the prom. The junior class volunteers will help with the decorations, the dances and all the different stuff that goes into coronation.”
Winter Formal is put on by the LHS Star Steppers every year with the help of the parents in the booster club. They do everything from decorating to cleaning up afterwards.
“We always have fun,” senior Brittani Smith said. “Putting Winter Formal together every year is something that brings us together as a team and we always try to make the best of it.”
