CTE department honors local police officers

The CTE department made shirts this year with a “Back the Blue” theme to honor the communities police officers. Last Friday the CTE department gave these shirts to every member of the local police department.

“We really like them,” CTE director Brent Berryman said. “It’s a great thing to honor the people

that serve us.”

The purpose of giving these shirts to the police force was to show appreciation for the hard work and sacrifices made by the police officers of the community.

“We wanted to make sure that they understand that we appreciate what they do,” Berryman said. “It is a tough, high-stress job and we love them because they protect us.”

The shirts were designed to be a positive reminder about all the duties the police have in keeping our schools and community safe.

“It was an overwhelming gesture by the technology department,” Lindale police officer Joey King said. ”It makes us feel at home that we have a department here that supports our cause.”
