Engineering Classes Code Music

Senior Diego Garcia begins to code his song. Each student coded their own song individually.

Students in the Engineering and Problem-Solving class began coding music of their choice as part of their coding project. The students will later use these skills to do a final end-of-the-year coding assignment.

“In our final project, we have to program three different sensors,” engineering teacher Duane Walton said. “This gives them an introduction to coding and music is a fun way to do it.”

Students coded songs such as “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Star Wars (Main Title),” and “Pirates of the Caribbean (Main Theme).”

“I’ve enjoyed getting to learn how to code and what code is,” senior Kaden Strickland said. “I’ve never done something like this before.”
