Seniors Marcus Field and Casey Poe signed today to play D1 football. Field will join Sam Houston State University as a receiver, and Poe will join the University of Alabama as a lineman.
“[SHSU] felt more like a family there,” Field said. “They are more connected since it’s a small town. Throughout the whole recruiting process, the coaches have made it real easy on me and kept in touch the most.”
Both Field and Poe will be majoring in business at their respective schools. Field hopes to open his own automotive business someday, and Poe hopes to make it to the NFL.
“I never thought anything like this would happen,” Poe said. “It’s been a wonderful thing and I’m very glad that God has put me in this position.”
