Sports Recap 10/9-10/13

The varsity football team took home a monster win at last Friday’s game against number one ranked Chapel Hill 35-23.  Senior Clint Thurman scored four touchdowns with Caleb Hart scoring one. Senior Casey Poe saw success on the offensive line with eight knockdowns.

Lindale saw massive success this week with Lady Eagles volleyball claiming a district win against Brownsboro 3-2 and a win against Mabank. The Lady Eagles are 31-8 overall and 9-1 in district play.

At the Mabank game, seniors Maddox Lay led with 14 kills, Kayli Vickery with 6 kills, and Reagan Cates with 5 kills, and Ella Hutchens contributed 4 kills, Maddie Little and Alyssa Potts each put down 3 kills. Potts. Vickery, and Cates recorded 3 blocks, and Ella Hutchens contributed 2. Senior Megan McGee led defensively with 6 digs. Reagan Cates and Reagan Hope each had 5 digs, and  Macy Luster had 4. Luster also earned 19 assists, and Tatum Woodard earned 15 assists.

At their district game against Brownsboro, the Lady Eagles won in five sets, 20-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-16, and 15-3. Reagan Hope finished the game with 25 digs, Addison Ridge 19 digs, and Callie Schmidt with 15 digs. Kayli Vickery put up 8 blocks, Ella Hutchens and Maddox Lay each contributed 5 blocks, and Alyssa Potts added 4 blocks. Maddox Lay and Addison Ridge led the Lady Eagles offense with 17 kills apiece. Reagan Cates tallied 8 kills, and Kayli Vickery added 7 kills. Setters Macy Luster and Tatum Woodard contributed 24 and 23 assists respectively.

 Finally tennis took home both a bi-district championship against Caddo Mills and an area championship against Sulpher Springs 10-4. At their area game, Senior Emilio Rodriguez and Breana Taylor, ranked number one on the latter, won in their singles matches.
