Yearbook staffers begin a new year with a fresh theme

The 2017-18 yearbook theme is “It’s a New Era”, so the book will be focused on modern times such as social media, technology and the students’ day-to-day lives compared to previous generations. The theme was picked to follow the historical 75th anniversary edition, and books go on sale in October.

“I am very excited about the new direction of this year’s book,” yearbook adviser Neda Morrow said.  “Last year’s ‘Timeless’ book was designed to honor Lindale’s history from the last 75 years.  This book will be designed as a beginning to a new era.”

This year, the girls are able to get more visually creative. They are able to tailor the book towards this generation of seniors. It will include more social media, modern photography, and fun elements.

“The whole meaning of this book is to highlight our specific class, the senior class,” Editor-in-Chief  Sarah Huseth said. “We wanted this book to really show what is important to our generation.”

Last year’s 2017 yearbook is now available to be picked up in room 117 for those who pre-purchased one.  The 2018 book can be purchased from www.smart-pay.com starting in October.

“I hope everyone will purchase a book this year,” Morrow said.  “It is the best way to recapture all the memories of the year in one place.
