Volleyball brings home weekend of success

The Lindale Lady Eagles had a successful weekend of volleyball on Friday and Saturday. Friday night, the Lady Eagles defeated North Lamar on the road. The freshmen lost a tough match with scores of 18-25 and 21-25, and the JV won a tough match with scores of 26-24 and 25-23.

Varsity took North Lamar down in 4 sets with scores of 22-25, 25-7, 25-17, and 25-13. Leading the Lady Eagles at the net was Brina Kuslak with 12 kills and 1 block. Sophomores Shailan Davis and London Reue put up big numbers also; Davis had 9 kills and 2 blocks and Reue had 8 kills and 4 blocks. Setters Harleigh Thurman and Kalaya Pierce handled the ball well; Thurman had 24 assists and 10 digs while Pierce had 17 assists and 8 digs. Libero Alisha Kiser had 28 digs on the match while defensive specialist Jennifer Moyer chipped in 11 digs.

Saturday, the Freshmen and JV teams both solidly won 1st place in the Kilgore Volleyball Tournament, both going 4-0 on the day defeating Tyler Grace, Kilgore, Troup, and Center. The Lady Eagles will hit the road this week and will travel to Henderson Tuesday and TK Gorman on Friday.
