Students begin taking exams on Wednesday and finish on Friday. Students who do not have to take exams are free to leave campus after C lunch on Wednesday; busses run at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 1:20 p.m. on Friday.
“I look forward to our exam season as students are able to show what they know,” Principal Jeremy Chilek said. “It also is an important time as it marks the end of our first semester and halfway mark of the school year.”
Students can be exempt from taking exams if they have an average of 80 or above for the current semester, have 2 or fewer absences, are below step 7 of the discipline plan, and have not been in OCS for more than 3 days. The exemptions for exams will be finalized on Tuesday, and teachers will have access to the list of students taking their exam.
“Our exam exemptions are vital to our campus and it incentivizes students to be present at school each day,” Chilek said. “There is no substitute for being in class and engaging in instruction.”
