The choir performed at their annual spring concert May 9 and celebrated their successful year. They also earned sweepstakes at Regional 21 UIL and performed in New Orleans.

“This has been a record breaking year for the choir program,” choir director Kerry Baham said. “Awards were given out for their outstanding performances and leadership.”

The choir was honored for their sweepstakes with straight ones at the Region 21 UIL contest. They earned sweepstakes in the treble and mixed choir with straight ones.

“This season has been very successful,” senior Sarah Kramer said. “I am truly privileged to have an amazing director as well as talented and kind friends.”

Three members competed at the All State choir conference in San Antonio. They performed alongside other state qualifiers in four days of intensive rehearsals.

“I’m so proud of everyone in the choir for working hard and having such a good year,” Kramer said. “I’m extremely happy that I got to go to the All State with Gracie and Elijah. I’m so thankful for the choir directors and privileged to have talented classmates.”

They also got a chance to perform at the Loyola University in cathedrals and churches. In addition, they visited the French quarter, swamplands, and steamboats.

I am truly thankful and privileged to have had the opportunity to visit New Orleans with amazing, talented people,” Kramer said. “It was an amazing opportunity.”
