Seniors Sign to Colleges

Seniors Sam Peterson, Emma Bosworth, and Ellie Watkins signed to colleges to play in the upcoming year. They will participate in baseball, soccer, and softball respectively.

“I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I don’t need to worry about trying to find a school to play at,” Peterson said. “I’m looking forward to moving away and finding who I truly am in this world and seeing what I can do at the highest level of college baseball.”

Peterson is on the varsity baseball team this year and signed on to continue playing baseball for the Texas State Bobcats baseball team.

“I get more excited by the day watching them play and be successful,” Peterson said. “It makes me want to get there as soon as possible.”

Bosworth signed to the University of Southern Maine, and will play soccer there. She has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had an athlete in the women’s soccer program get signed by a college,” soccer coach Cody Bray said. “It’s a big thing for our school and for her.”

Watkins signed to East Texas Baptist University to play softball in the upcoming school year. Watkins has been playing softball since she was 5 years old.

“It is well deserved,” Meredith Grant said. “She’s put in a lot of time and effort and a lot of work outside of high school softball, playing travel ball. She has worked for this opportunity and I am super proud that she is getting it.”
