Seniors Sign to Colleges

Seniors Airik Williams and Jaycob Kenney signed to colleges on Monday and Wednesday. Williams signed to play safety at Mary-Hardin Baylor and Kenney signed to run cross country at ETBU.

“Airik is one of the best kids I’ve ever been around,” Principal Jeremy Chilek said. “You want great things to happen to great people, and he’s one of them.”

Williams is a senior defensive back. His plans for the future are to become a coach and teacher.

“I chose UMHB because it is the best place that felt like home to me and the best place where I can grow as an athlete and a person,” Williams said. I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and coaches and just growing a bond with them. Also win a few games.”

Kenney has had an overall successful cross country season, being one of the top finishers all season and placing sixth at the competitive District 16-4A to qualify for the regional meet.

“The decision wasn’t a very difficult one,” Kenney said. “Coach Prather, the cross country coach, had reached out to me and made the process very easy. I am very excited to have the opportunity to continue my running career.”
