Three Lindale seniors signed to play sports at the collegiate level Wednesday. Chelynn Palmer, Shelbi Steen, and Brandon Burckel all made their college commitments.
Palmer will be attending Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas to play volleyball.
“Chelynn is such a joy to coach,” head volleyball coach Jessica Dimsdle said. “She works hard everyday and is willing to do anything asked of her. I am so proud of what she has accomplished and cannot wait to see all she does on and off the court.”
Steen has decided to stay closer to friends and family and play volleyball for Tyler Junior College.
“Shelbi has played on varsity for me for four years and I cannot imagine a team without her,” Dimsdle said. “She is one of the most competitive players yet has more humility than anyone. She is so much fun to coach and I know she will do great things!”
Burckel will play baseball for the University of Houston.
“Brandon is a great competitor,” head baseball coach Rich Sanguinetti said. “He lives for competition and that is what separates him. He is always getting extra work in and doing everything he can to be successful. He takes pride in everything that he does on and off the field. He is a four year starter and a leader on our team.”
