Multiple Eagle Athletes Receive Offers From Division 1 Colleges

Multiple athletes from the athletic department have recently received college offers, with many being to division 1 universities.  Seniors Jodi Dehart and Hannah Knox, as well as junior London Reue have received offers for softball.  Baseball sophomore Brandon Burckel and senior Cody Pike, and basketball senior Cody Collinsworth have received offers as well.  National Signing Day is in February when students finalize their choices.

“I’m excited for the opportunity [that] these young ladies have to further their education and [to take their] softball career to the next level,” softball coach Meredith Grant said. “I have coached this group of young ladies since their freshmen year, and I could not be more proud of them.”

For this year’s softball lineup, three players  have received college offers: senior Jodi Dehart to Tyler Junior College, junior London Reue to UT Tyler and senior Hannah Knox to Northwestern State University.

“I have already committed to the offer from Northwestern State University,” Knox said. “I will be signing on later this year.”

Two varsity baseball players have also received offers to various colleges. Sophomore Brandon Burckel received an offer from the University of Houston, and senior Cody Pike  received an offer from North Central Texas Junior College.

“We have had a lot of success in recent years, and that has stemmed from the dedication and hard work that our players have put into the game of baseball,” baseball coach Richard Sanguinetti said. “They have bought into an approach, and that has led to the baseball team getting more kids to the next level.”

Senior Cody Collinsworth recently transferred to Lindale from Pilot Point High School and he is on the varsity basketball team. He has received offers from over forty colleges and has verbally committed to an offer from Portland University.

“I am excited to spend the next chapter of my life playing for the Portland Pilots,” Collinsworth said. “[I would like to say] thanks to Coach Cantu and the entire staff for this opportunity.”
