Junior Valerie Adams’ artwork is being displayed in the ETX Brewing Company in downtown Tyler through early December. The artistic pours are displayed throughout the restaurant. The artwork changes frequently, and they are made by local artists.
“When I first started making the pours I was in a very dark place and it was a way to escape,” Adams said. ”Now I do it because it’s a good way to release stress.”
There are cards taped to the wall and by the cash register with information for those who are interested in buying a piece of Adam’s art. Pieces are also sold on her Etsy shop, https://www.etsy.com/shop/valspours/edit?ref=seller-platform-mcnav , or her Instagram page @Vals_Pours.
“I decided to start selling my pours because first off, they take up a lot of space,” Adams said. “Secondly I wanted to be able to make more and lastly because people kept asking me if they were for sale. so I finally said yes.”
Along with selling at ETX Brewing Company, Adams does custom pours for people who make an order with her on her Instagram. The prices vary based on number of paints and size of the canvas.
“I felt excited for this opportunity,” Adams said. ”ETX Brewing is run by some amazing people and the fact that they’re the first place allowing me to hang up my work is amazing.”
