The yearbook staff is requesting that seniors who want to have a senior ad in the yearbook turn in their forms by October 20. Yearbooks are currently on sale for $60.

“Yearbooks start out at $60 at the beginning of the year and gradually increase as the year goes on,” yearbook editor-in-chief Sarah Huseth said. “It’s best for students to start buying them now so they can get it for the best price.”

This year’s yearbook theme is “Our New Era.”  The yearbook staff chose this theme because last year was the 75th edition, and it was a historical theme, so this year is the beginning of a new era.

“[The yearbook] is supposed to represent what is important to our generation and things that matter to us,” Huseth said. “Last year, the book focused on the past of Lindale and what was important back then. This book is going to include important things to current students such as technology and social media.”

Senior ads are a dedicated space in the yearbook where seniors can be featured individually.  Senior ads are available for $325 for a full-page ad, $170 for a half page ad, $90 for a quarter page ad or $50 for an eighth page ad. These ads allow seniors to have a permanent space in the yearbook.

“[Senior ads] allows parents and family members to send their well-wishes to their senior in a permanent form,” yearbook adviser Neda Morrow said. “Although there are a few restrictions on the content of the ads, for the most part, it allows parents to showcase their seniors and their personalities.”

Yearbooks preserve memories and history because they last forever. Instead of deleting the pictures after a year or two, like many people do with pictures on their phones, these pictures cannot be erased from the book.

“Purchasing a yearbook allows people to have a piece of Lindale history at their fingertips,” Morrow said. “It freezes our year in time and allows us to go back to the memories we made with friends and family.”
