A familiar face since birth. Minds that are so alike, it has been described as the super power of telepathy. Actions so alike that it looks like a miming performance to outsiders. A best friend for life that just so happens to be a practical clone. These are the joys of having a twin.

The high school campus has multiple sets of twins. Some are identical (having the same DNA) while others are fraternal (genetically unique).

“The thing I love most about being twins is just being friends, just having someone to talk to,” Sydney Burrs said. “He is in my life 24/7, so I guess I have a forever friend.”

Juniors Sydney and Brent Burrs are one set of fraternal twins, although the most obvious difference is their gender.

“We share our faces,” Brent Burrs said. “I can actually open her phone with my face, which is very funny.”

Sydney Burrs is learning how to fly a plane and working towards getting a license. Brent Burrs hopes to follow her path and gain a license as well.

“The thing I love most about being twins is just being friends, just having someone to talk to,” Sydney Burrs said. “He is in my life 24/7, so I guess I have a forever friend.”

Another set of twins are the Lucas brothers, sophomores Aiden and Gavin. They are fraternal twins. Aiden participates in more athletic activities, while Gavin participates in theater.

“The thing I love about being a twin the most is probably how we get along,” Gavin Lucas said. “We get along better than some other siblings, and also confuse people.”

The twins share many similarities, such as their favorite types of books and interest in Marvel and DC comics. Aiden is taller than Gavin, and both have a similar voice. The two share some differences as well, such as Aiden is in a band, while Gavin is not.

“The thing I love most about being a twin is having a friend for your whole life,” Aiden Lucas said. “I haven’t found anything super challenging about being his twin.”

Another set of twins are seniors Alexus and Natalle DeDios. They are identical twins, and share all the same classes. They both are in sports and play racquetball outside of school.

“Having a twin is like having someone with you all the time,” Natalle DeDios said. “They know everything you do and they are just constantly with you.”

The main differences between the twins are their fashion preference and career paths. Natalle plans to become an anesthesiologist while Alexus wants to become an exotic animal vet.

“Being a twin is a lot of fun; we are always with each other,” Alexus DeDios said. “We always know what the other is thinking and can shoot one look and know exactly what the other one is thinking and feeling.”
