The engineering class was recently tasked to engineer an earthquake resistant apartment building. The class has been working on the project for three weeks.
“I love the engineering process for testing out the tower,” senior Kaden Strickland said. “Creating different designs and having to test each one makes the process enjoyable and unique from anything else.”
The class has been building and designing apartment buildings to make it earthquake resistant. After testing the tower they modify and compare the models. The engineering curriculum focuses on civil engineering.
“I love the process that it takes to build and design the tower to produce an earthquake resistant building,” senior Diego Garcia said. “The buildings will help people in the future with building regulations.
