Yearbook Program Recognized for National Excellence

The yearbook staff has recently been recognized by Balfour for their work on the 2021 yearbook.  This is awarded to schools that meet Balfour’s criteria with fewer than five percent of school districts in the country receiving the honor.

“Lindale High School’s inclusion in the 2022 Yearbook Yearbook reflects their commitment to journalism excellence and creativity,” Cobb said. “Balfour honors fewer than 5 percent of yearbook staffs with this distinctions.”

Each year different schools from around the nation are selected to be displayed for other schools to look at to come up with ideas for their own yearbook. Yearbooks are evaluated in five different categories, theme development, layout design, photo technique, secondary packages, and cover design.

“Yearbook works really hard every year to make a book that this community really appreciates,” yearbook adviser Neda Morrow said. “By keeping their standards high they are able to be recognized for the work they’ve done for photography and design.”

The yearbook is featured in Balfour’s publication, the “Yearbook Yearbook”.

“Getting into the Yearbook Yearbook really inspires me to work the best I can on the yearbooks I work on from now on,” Julia Montgomery, managing editor of technology,  said. “Since you can be featured for just about every part of your book, from photography to senior ads, this goal is far from impossible.”
