Theater’s Black Box Auditions to Begin Next Week

The theater class will begin auditions for the black box show Oct. 11 for anyone who would like to take part. The show will be about 40 minutes to an hour with a total of 10 to 12 actors.

“For us, it’s going to be a much smaller show done in the black box which would be a more detailed set and interesting stuff,” theater director Taylor Jarman said. “ We want it to really help our program as a whole to get ready for one act play.”

As of right now, the decision for what the play will be hasn’t been made, but they are looking between having a situational comedy or a more realistic dramatic show.

“Overall I’m genuinely excited for it because it’s going to be my first high school show that I try out for,” sophomore Otto Staus said. “I’m excited because I’ve always liked playing the part of somebody else. It kinda gives  me more room to step out of my own comfort zone, but it also allows me and other people not to be ourselves and just get to play a fun wacky character or a serious one.”
