Catwalk for a Cause

Catwalk for a Cause

Catwalk for a Cause was a locally sponsored fashion show and silent auction held at The Fatt Apple March 22. The event  benefitted Hope Haven of East Texas, a home for abused girls.  Multiple LHS girls contributed to the event by modeling.

“When I participated in Catwalk for a Cause I had fun with it,” sophomore and event model Cassidy Paige said.  “I modeled Pinkie Pie Boutique clothes along with Trades of Hope jewelry and some other items from home such as a scarf and my gray Vans.”

Not only did this event help Hope Haven, it advertised local vendors whose products were used in the auctions and modeled. Girls could sign up to model on their own, or businesses were able to sponsor a model for $100.

“During the style show they had a girl share her story with us, and just from looking at her I never would have guessed that she had to the endure the abuse and harassment that she talked about in her story,” sophomore and event model Kaitlyn Wallace said. “The catwalk allowed me to realize that abuse and domestic violence is an issue that anyone could be dealing with in their life. So the fact that people came together to raise money and bring awareness for Hope Haven is wonderful.”
