The Lindale Lady Eagles started the volleyball season off right with a clean sweep of the Longview Lobos at Tuesday’s home opener.

The Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Longview 3-1 to cap off the night. Leading hitters for the contest were Shelbi Steen and Skylar Wyllie.  Kalaya Pierce and Harleigh Thurman each had 12 assists on the night.
The junior varsity Lady Eagles also came out victorious. Leading the charge was sophomore middle Maggie Spearman and sophomore setter Preslie Walters.
JV 2 got their first win of the season. Bailey Breaux had 13 service points and a strong defensive showing. Leading the freshmen team in their victory was Brooke Tweedell with two blocks and Hannah Morrow with 13 service points.
Our JV Lady Eagles competed in the Van Varsity Tournament Friday and Saturday losing to Bullard, Jacksonville, and Big Sandy but defeating Arp. Kenleigh Aguirre had a great defensive outing with McKinleigh Evans and Darby Woodrum leading the team in kills.

Varsity was back in action at the Longview Tournament on Thursday and Saturday. The Lady Eagles opened the tournament with a two-set win over Pine Tree and a tough loss to Pleasant Grove in three sets. On Saturday they played Hooks and Pine Tree, winning both matches in 2 sets. For the championship, they found themselves facing Pleasant Grove a second time. The Lady Eagles lost their first set 25-20, and then won 25-19 and 29-13. All-Tournament went to Shelbi Steen and Harleigh Thurman. Steen dominated the court with kills from front row and back row, while Thurman ran a great court and spread the ball around well. Both lead the team in their own way.  Special shoutout to our middles Skylar Wyllie and Brenley Philen for working hard on the block and getting great swings, London Reue for keeping the energy up with strong kills and lots of enthusiasm and Kalaya Pierce for running the court well and setting up our strong hitters.
