Varsity was back in action at the Longview Tournament on Thursday and Saturday. The Lady Eagles opened the tournament with a two-set win over Pine Tree and a tough loss to Pleasant Grove in three sets. On Saturday they played Hooks and Pine Tree, winning both matches in 2 sets. For the championship, they found themselves facing Pleasant Grove a second time. The Lady Eagles lost their first set 25-20, and then won 25-19 and 29-13. All-Tournament went to Shelbi Steen and Harleigh Thurman. Steen dominated the court with kills from front row and back row, while Thurman ran a great court and spread the ball around well. Both lead the team in their own way. Special shoutout to our middles Skylar Wyllie and Brenley Philen for working hard on the block and getting great swings, London Reue for keeping the energy up with strong kills and lots of enthusiasm and Kalaya Pierce for running the court well and setting up our strong hitters.
