Volleyball Go Undefeated in Tyler Tournament

Over the weekend, the Lindale Lady Eagles dominated the court again and won first place in the Tyler Tournament, going 6-0 in the tournament and improving their overall record to 19-5.  A total of 32 teams from all over East Texas competed in the tournament.

Lindale started on Friday by going 3-0 in pool play.  They faced Brownsboro first (25-16, 25-16) and then took on Pleasant Grove and West Mesquite.  Scores against Pleasant Grove were 25-22 and 25-19, and scores against West Mesquite were 25-18 and 25-10.     The Lady Eagles faced a tough Hallsville team in the opening round of the gold bracket play.  Lindale won 25-20, 25-23 and immediately had to face off with North Lamar in the semi-final match.  It was a competitive two sets, but Lindale was victorious again (25-21, 27-25).  Lindale met up with Beckville, ranked #9 in 2A volleyball, in the championship match.  Beckville had solid serve receive passing and scrappy defense,  but it was no match for Lindale’s block, power hitters, and defense.  The Lady Eagles had a cumulative total of 6.0 team blocks in the two set match, 27 kills, and 30 digs.  Lindale won with scores of 25-22 and 25-18.

– Brina Kuslak: 27 kills, 12 blocks
– London Reue: 22 kills, 6 blocks
– Harleigh Thurman: 78 assists, 16 digs
– Kalaya Pierce: 42 assists, 14 digs
– Jennifer Moyer: 53 digs, 9 assists

The Lady Eagles take the court again with all teams at home on Tuesday evening in a dual against Carthage and Quitman.
