First book fair held in library

A book fair was held from December 7-11 in the library. Students came during their English classes and lunches to buy books and toys from the fair.

“LHS has never had a book fair,” media specialist Rhonda Walker said. “We thought it would be an exciting event for the students and promote literature and the love of reading.”

The fair was a success, with many students visiting the displays in the library.  Lindale will also be hosting another book fair in the future.

“The students have really enjoyed it,” Walker said. “We have received a lot of positive feedback from the students and faculty.”

Heather Long, the assistant media specialist, and Walker came up with the idea of a book fair at the high school.  Students have been in and out of the library more this week than usual. This was the very first book fair to ever be held at Lindale.

“I really enjoyed seeing students get excited about reading,” Walker said. “They have also bought books as gifts.  The book fair set up looks great and creates a great atmosphere in the library.”
