Key Club will meet in room 407 to host an informational meeting before and after school next Tuesday and their first service meeting on September 10. A $25 due and 50 service hours by the end of the year are required to participate in the club.
“I like that the students get enthusiastic about serving the community and the school,” Laura Brown, co-sponsor of Key Club and English teacher, said. “And I like the fact that it gives them the opportunity to do something that they might not normally do if they can’t be a part of other clubs or organizations.”
The first service activity members will participate in is creating welcome bags for students new to Lindale. These will be delivered personally by members during classes.
“We want to welcome them and make them feel happy and glad to be here at Lindale,” Brown said. “We, also, of course, want to offer another way for them to be a part of something if they’re not already, like Key Club.”
