Students can submit their work for the Boylan arts contest in room 410. This contest is held by the Boylan foundation, and has money prizes for medalists.
“The Boylan contest is a great opportunity for our kids,” English teacher Renee Ramsey said. “It’s an opportunity for kids who like to write to win cash prizes.”
There are three types of submissions: art, photography, and writing. The deadline for any and all contest submissions is April 12; submission papers need to be brought to room 410.
“Winning the Boylan art contest last year was really a magical experience,” sophomore Josey Derosier said. “It was completely worth the work I put into it and I hope to do just as well with my submissions this year.”
Writing has three subcategories: poetry, non-fiction, and fiction. Students are allowed to submit two entries for any category or competition. All submissions are free.
