Graduation is quickly approaching as seniors will soon enter the final six weeks of the school year. There are many upcoming events for seniors as they close out their final year of high school.
“I want the seniors to know that they have all the skills and academic potential to be successful,” graduation organizer Renee Ramsey said. “It is now on them to budget their time, buckle down, and be serious about college.”
Brad Cooper with the Herff Jones Company will deliver cap, gown and other senior products during all three lunches April 2nd. Seniors will pick up their cap and gowns for graduation as well as for senior photos.
“I have yet to take senior photos, so I am excited to pick up my cap and gown,” senior Fiona Turney said. “I am ready to graduate and move on to college.”
Senior Grad Nite will be held May 10 for all students who have paid. Students will leave for Six Flags from 6 pm to 12 am and will bus back to the school and return around approximately 2 am. They will then have their senior breakfast and gift giveaway in the cafeteria upon return.
“I have been looking forward to the Six Flags trip since I was a freshman,” senior Landen Gill said. “My friends and I are going to have so much fun.”
Yearbooks are for sale starting at $75 at https://www.balfour.com/texas/lindale/lindale-high-school. The final deadline to submit pictures for senior ads is March 22.
“The staff picked a really great theme this year that really gives ownership of the book to the student body,” yearbook advisor Kristin Schlessman said. “It’s called ‘Our Year’ and they’ve worked really hard to keep that theme throughout the entire book and even added some things this year that showcase more of the student body and the classes and activities LHS has to offer.”
The annual honors ceremony will be held May 16th in the PAC. The senior picnic will be May 17.
Graduation will be May 24 at 7 pm at the stadium.
“I absolutely love helping with graduation,” Ramsey said. “All the graduates are so excited and a bit nervous on graduation night. I adore getting to be right there on the side of the stage and give them words of encouragement.”
