Over the past week, the track teams competed in the Lindale Blackberry Relays, our boy’s golf team competed in the Panther Invitational Golf Tournament and our tennis team returned from the Cowtown Classic in Ft. Worth.
At the Blackberry Relays, there were a total of five 1st place awards for boys varsity, six for boys junior varsity, six for girls varsity and twelve for girls junior varsity. For second place, we had three in boys varsity, nine in boys junior varsity, four in girls varsity and four in girls junior varsity.
For the Panther Invitational Golf Tournament, the boys team ended with a collective score of 306 and placed first at the meet. Jackson Pullin ended with a score of 70 and placed first overall. Seth Marrow achieved a score of 73 and placed third overall. Tobin Phillips got a score of 80. Jack Hopson ended with a score of 83, which is his new personal best in a tournament. Josh McDonald ended with a score of 95, which is also his personal best in a tournament.
“Coach Kelly and I are extremely proud of these young men,” coach Derek Dukes said. “They kept their heads and stayed focused even when things weren’t going well.”
In the Cowtown Classic, Bre Taylor placed first in girls singles, Hayden Harry and Kalvin Dryman placed second in boys doubles, Parker Hollingsworth and Madeline Chilek placed second in mixed doubles and Emilio Rodriguez placed third in boys singles.
