The Creative Writing Club will have a sensory experiment Tuesday after school from 3:30 p.m. to 4. The project was made to allow students to experiment with descriptive writing.
“It’s important to open up the creativity of young minds,” Brandi Bridges, teacher and Creative Writing Club sponsor, said. “When we use sensory details it helps the reader to feel like they’re a part of the reading experience.”
Leaders will blindfold students and will give them various objects to hold and describe. This lesson will aid students in their ability to ‘show, not tell’ when describing events within their projects.
“I have been very excited about today’s meeting since I heard about it,” sophomore Madison Barnes said. “I think it is a wonderful opportunity that incorporates learning writing techniques with a fun
and creative activity.’
