Senior De Jackson signed to University of Mary-Hardin Baylor to play football. He was the only Lindale student who signed on National Signing Day.
“It feels good,” Jackson said. “I feel like I’ve done what I’ve been working so hard for. Small schools like Lindale tend to get overlooked and just getting the chance to go to college and being able to play is just a really big step for me.”
Jackson has played football for Lindale since his sophomore year when he moved from Winona. He has also participated in basketball and is currently a starter on the varsity basketball team.
“I am very excited for De,” head football coach Mike Meador said. “He is a senior captain and a leader on our football team and him getting an opportunity to go get an education is a great thing. He’s a great football player and he’s going to be an asset to their team.”
Jackson said his biggest supporters in his sports career this far have been his parents.
“My main motivation has really been just to see my mom happy,” Jackson said. “I really love seeing her happy, and knowing that I’ve gotten it all taken care of and that my college is paid for.”
