The varsity football team took home a win at last Friday’s game against Jacksonville 49-14. Senior Clint Thurman scored four touchdowns. Senior Casey Poe saw success on the offensive line with eleven knockdowns.
The Lady Eagles finalized their regular season with a win over Athens. They won in 3 sets 25-13, 25-11, and 25-19.
Addison Ridge put down 10 kills; Maddox Lay found the floor for 9 kills, and Kayli Vickery recorded 6 kills. Libero Reagan Hope tallied 17 digs, and Addison Ridge had 7 digs. Tatum Woodard and Macy Luster each recorded 12 assists. Kayli Vickery added 4 blocks on the night. The Lady Eagles finished district with an 11-1 record and 33-8 overall.
The Lindale Lady Eagles defeated Paris Monday night in Greenville to clench a bi-district championship. Lindale won in 3 sets 25-5, 25-10, and 25-17.
Maddox Lay led the Lady Eagle’s attack with 11 kills and added 2 digs. Reagan Cates contributed 5 kills, 6 digs, and 2 blocks. Kayli Vickery put down 5 kills, 3 blocks, and 1 dig. Alyssa Potts had 5 kills, 3 digs, and 1 block. Addison Ridge recorded 4 kills, 10 digs. Ella Hutchens rounded out the attack with 2 kills and 1 block. Defensively, Reagan Hope had 6 digs. Setter Macy Luster recorded 17 assists, 6 digs, and Tatum Woodard tallied 11 assists. Callie Schmidt added 2 digs, and Megan McGee had 1 dig for Lindale. The Lady Eagles will face off against Caddo Mills on Thursday night in Wills Point.
Junior Varsity defeated Athens in 3 sets 19-25, 25-13, and 25-13. Lauren Stanton led with 6 kills and 6 digs. Brooke Gissell had 5 kills, 1 block, and Maddy Fowble also added 5 kills and 2 blocks. Keirsan Sanders had 3 kills, 3 aces, and Kenlie Collins added 3 kills. Bayleigh Yarbrough and Holli Dunn each had 11 digs. Clara Helvey recorded 12 assists, 1 ace, and Emory Schmidt had 7 assists, 1 ace. Junior Varsity finished district with an 11-1 record.
Freshman A Team defeated Athens in 2 sets 25-19 and 25-18. Jordyn Weesner recorded 6 kills and Tessa Dennis had 4 kills. Grace Koustoubardis assisted 9 times and served 4 aces. Freshman A Team finished district with an undefeated record.
The Lady Eagles golf team placed 4th in the Sulphur Springs Invitational yesterday at Sulphur Springs Country Club. (They placed 3rd amongst our district & regional teams.)
Kenzie McClenny shot her tournament low of 72 and was the tournament champion. Karis Pollard finished in the top 15 with an 89.
