The choir began their process of All Region tryouts on Sept. 30. Having six out of the top alto, three out four basses, and three out of the four sopranos, a total of 27 students made All Region and 20 will continue on to Pre-Area.
“Students are learning and believing that with proper preparation comes success,” choir director Kerry Baham said. “I look forward to see who persevered through the entire process through January.”
The students went through a seven hour process of tryouts in Whitehouse. They performed a Latin piece, one German piece, and one English piece.
“All Region is such a fun experience and it’s nice to see hard work pay off,” sophomore soprano Eliana Mcguire said. “I’m excited to see what the future of the choir program is gonna look like.”
Sophomore Zia Pitts placed first chair alto, Sanchez placed first bass, senior Lila Landers placed second alto, and Mcguire placed third bass.
“I really enjoy All Region choir because it just the first stage of the competition where I can showcase my abilities,” sophomore bass Elijah Mcguire said. “I’m excited for how the year turns out through our hard work.”
