UPDATE (9/27/2023): This story has been updated with pictures of the delivery of the mums.
National Honor Society (NHS) will make Homecoming mums throughout the week for Life Skills students. Students who are a part of NHS can go to room 231 anytime before, during, or after school if they are interested in helping out.
“Making Homecoming mums for the Life Skills students allows them to connect with students they might not meet during their daily routine at LHS, ” NHS sponsor Sally Clemmons said. “I think it is important for our students to give back to their peers.”
Students who participate will receive community service hours. Members of NHS do this project each year before Homecoming.
“I think making mums is fun,” junior Paula Arantes said. “I’m happy that I have a chance to give back to the community and have fun doing it.”
