The Baseball Team Continues Fifth Year Of Monster Mash On New Turf

The Lindale Baseball Team revealed newly installed turf on Tuesday and will host the annual Monster Mash October 25.

“Our baseball kids dress up in costumes and they play fun baseball games,” coach Rich Sanguinetti said. “ [Monster Mash] is really fun for the kids cause they get out there and see Superman hitting a ball or Batman fielding it.”

Families and kids are invited  to come trick or treating, play festival games, and watch the boys play in their costumes. Monster Mash first started as a fun game but blossomed over time to a yearly fun event.

“It’s a good family fun event where it is geared towards little kids, ” coach Sanguinetti said. “It’s open to the public to enjoy a little baseball atmosphere with some halloween.”

Tickets will be five dollars and the baseball team will use the money as a fund towards their team. Kids under 10 get in for free. Anyone is allowed to come join and watch next Tuesday and participate in fun activities.

“They added turf about 11 years ago so it needed to be updated,” coach Sanguinetti said. “They just redid what we have now and got finished last week and Monster Mash will kind of be the first public outing.”

At the turf reveal, the coaches did a cookout and a surprise reveal for parents and players.

“We have a lot of guys that enjoy the game of baseball,” coach Sanguinetti said. “The kids in the off season have been working really hard and we’re excited to combine them with our multisport kids in the springtime.”
