Last week, the drill team held auditions for officer and social officer positions. The girls had to perform a routine and go through an interview process.
“The tryout process is very rigorous and this is not something we take lightly,” drill team coach Keri Pierce said. “There is a lot of work that goes into just trying out, so I am proud of each and every girl that did all of that work. Officer tryouts are hard because there are so many girls who would make excellent officers, but there are a limited number of spots.
Junior Kerrigan Pierce earned the position of head captain, sophomore Macy Beeler earned senior lieutenant, and juniors Rylee Schultz and Kaylee Brousseau along with sophomore Charlotte McConathy earned officer titles.
“It’s honestly an honor to be named as the head captain,” junior Kerrigan Pierce said. “I’m so happy that not only my hard work paid off, but so did the other girls’.”
For social officers, junior Madelyn Morgan earned the title of President, junior Gracie Woolverton earned organization vice president, junior Brynn Borden earned chaplain vice president, sophomore Hadlee Scott earned historian, sophomore Abby Shine earned secretary, and sophomore Madison Farmer earned media officer.
“The feeling of earning president was great,” Morgan said. “I’m so excited and proud of myself and everyone else.”
