The speech and debate team will go to state competition March 18 and 19 after competing at Congress State and CX district. Congress was held Jan. 10 through 13th and CX District was Jan. 26.
“This has been an interesting year for speech and debate,” coach Rory Mckenzie said. “We’re definitely looking to the future and hopefully laying the groundwork for successful futures. The legacy at Lindale is huge and we’re working on fulfilling and even expanding that legacy.”
Seniors George Bond and Gavin James competed at Congress and didn’t place. At CX District, Bond and sophomore Jakob Davenport placed first.
