Varsity volleyball won all three of their sets Oct. 19 against Chapel Hill, closing out district. The scores were 25-21, 25-23, 25-19.
Senior Brenley Philen recorded 1 block, 2 digs, 3 aces, and 9 kills. Senior Ellie Watkins recorded 1 block, 3 digs, and 6 kills. Sophomore Maddox Lay recorded 3 digs and 5 kills. Sophomore Kayli Vickery recorded 4 kills. Sophomore Reagan Cates recorded 1 block and 3 kills. Junior Brooke Tweedell recorded 2 blocks and a kill. Sophomore Ana Ivy recorded 17 assists, 1 dig, and 1 ace. Sophomore Tatum Woodard recorded 9 assists and 2 digs. Senior Alondra Romero recorded 13 digs.
Varsity tennis won their matchup against Melissa High School 10-0 but went on to lose district to Wills Point 3-10, ending their season and making them second in the region.
“It was so nice to see all the players focused on one specific goal,” sophomore
Fiona Turney said. “After two 10-0 wins it was important for us to stay focused doing our job and not slacking off.”
