Lindale hosted it’s freshmen/JV volleyball tournament this past weekend. JV brought home the championship trophy after beating All Saints, Kaufman, and Whitehouse. Preslie Walters and Makenna Burks controlled the court from the setter position. Ellie Watkins had eight kills, four aces, and three blocks. Maggie Spearman was strong at the net with eight kills and five blocks. Darby Woodrum had a day with 10 kills, and McKinleigh Evans boasted 12 kills. Kenleigh Aguirre was outstanding on defensive for the Lady Eagles.
The freshmen Lady Eagles took second in the silver bracket by defeating both John Tyler teams. They were led by Brooke Tweedell with 17 kills, three blocks, and three aces. Bailey Wood put up nine kills and five blocks. Keatyn Bills was strong with six kills and five aces. Mary Ann Hicks five kills, four aces, and Kennedy Weesner had five kills and three aces. Gwen May shined defensively and had seven aces. Setter Eva Yates had 18 assists and six aces on the day.
The Lady Eagles will open district with Mt. Pleasant at home on Friday. Varsity will begin at 5:00 with the JV and freshmen following at 6:30.
