Sophomore Jacob Easom won first place in the Tyler Heart Walk & 5K Red Carpet Run on Saturday November 3. Easom’s participation in the 25th Anniversary Heart Walk helped raise money for the American Heart Association.
“With cross country ending I wanted to do something to stay active and keep running,” Easom said. “I chose to do this because all of the money raised goes towards a good cause.”
Easom competed against approximately 250-300 other runners.
“I was really shocked to win, and I definetly was not expecting it,” Easom said. “The top runners recieved prizes, which was cool, but I think contributing to the cause was a much more rewarding.”
