Softball Beats Ennis in Extra Inning

Friday night on the road in Ennis, the Lindale Lady Eagles moved up to 2-0 in district play, defeating the Ennis Lady Lions in an intense, nail-biter game that went to an extra inning with a score of 9-8. The score went back and forth from inning to inning, Ennis would score, Lindale responded, and Ennis came back again to score again. It was 8-8 at the end of seven innings. Jodi DeHart  started off the top of the eighth with a triple that scored one run, giving the Lady Eagles a 9-8 lead. Ennis failed to respond in the bottom and Lindale won.

The Lady Eagles had 10 hits on the night. Jodi DeHart, Hannah Knox, and Sarah Day each had multiple hits a piece. London Reue, Tyra Rodden, and Cailynn Widemon each helped with 1 hit each. Hannah Knox took the win for Lindale. She allowed nine hits, six runs, and struck out seven.

The Lady Eagles take on Whitehouse Tuesday night at home. JV starts at 4:30 and varsity will begin around 6:00.
