Things To Do In Lil’ Ol’ Lindale

“There is nothing to do in Lindale!”  That’s what students say.  They think you have to go to Tyler or Dallas to have any fun, but things are changing.

The Cannery has brought a whole new level of entertainment to “The Dale”.

The main attraction of the Cannery is Love and War in Texas, which provides a  steady stream of musical artists and concerts each weekend.  Love and War is a great place to catch up-and-coming stars as they sing their way to fame while you enjoy delicious Texas style cuisine.

After dinner, you can meander over to The Pink Pistol–the store of Lindale’s hometown favorite, Miranda Lambert.  You can purchase all kinds of Miranda merchandise as well as western style clothing.  These two attractions are just the beginning of what The Cannery has to offer.

The Cannery has also brought an outdoor revitalization to downtown Lindale.  There is a new park that is part of the complex featuring a paved walking trail and pond.  It even serves as Lindale’s own movie theater, and the park is hosting outdoor movie nights.  So grab a blanket, and curl up under the stars and watch a classic flick–just be sure to BYOP (bring your own popcorn!)

Another outdoor venue is Picker’s Pavilion right across from the park.  Picker’s is a really cool renovated open air warehouse that hosts many community events like flea markets, dances and exhibitions.  Nestled between the park and Picker’s is an outdoor bandstand.  The bandstand is flanked by picnic tables and lush green grass and is a great place to hang out and listen to live music.  Recently, there was a huge festival called The Big Texas Fest that was a weekend long entertainment extravaganza which included all the venues The Cannery had to offer.  There were concerts, vendors, food booths, and all kinds of activities for the whole family.  This annual event really showed off what an exciting and entertaining place Lindale can be.  So before you head off to Tyler or the Metroplex, check out what is going on in your own hometown!  You might decide it’s much more fun to hang out closer to home!
