Volleyball competes against Tyler Lee

On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles competed against the Tyler Lee Lady Raiders.  Lindale used this home match as an opportunity to collect donations towards helping Aransas County ISD, a school district that experienced great loss due to Hurricane Harvey.  A total of over $500 was collected in one night and was seen as a victory as well.
The Freshmen lost, but the JV and Varsity teams were successful in their matches.  Scores for the Freshmen were 23-25, 21-25.  Scores for the JV were 25-20, 17-25, and 26-24.
The Varsity Lady Eagles prevailed in a 5 set knock-down, drag out battle against the Lady Raiders.  Scores were 25-21, 25-19, 26-28, 24-26, and 15-10.  Leaders at the net were Brina Kuslak (15 kills, 2 blocks), Hannah Knox (13 kills, 10 digs), Lorin Reue (10 kills, 2 blocks, 7 digs), and London Reue (8 kills, 1 block).  Setters Harleigh Thurman and Kalaya Pierce put up impressive numbers as well.  Thurman led with 25 assists, 8 digs, and 1 ace.  Pierce added 15 assists, 8 digs, and 1 ace as well.  Leading the defensive effort in the back row was senior libero Alisha Kiser with 30 digs and 2 aces.
The Lady Eagles will travel to play against North Lamar on Friday night, and the Freshmen and JV teams will compete in the Kilgore Tournament on Saturday this weekend.
