Twenty Lindale High School Seniors Selected for Texas Bank and Trust Board of Directors

[LINDALE, Tex.]—Texas Bank and Trust is pleased to announce the selection of 20 Lindale High School seniors to serve on its 2016-2017 Student Board of Directors.

The TBT Student Board is a prestigious program recognizing outstanding high school seniors in the community. The 2016-2017 Student Board members will be introduced to the TBT bank staff in an Orientation Reception, to be held at 7 pm, Thursday, September 1 in the main lobby in downtown Lindale. Parents and school administrators are invited to attend.

The LHS seniors who qualified for this year’s Student Board make up the eighth senior class to participate in the TBT program. The participating seniors include Abbie Anderson, Whitney Bacon, Camden Brown, Kelsey Crews, Malea Enloe, Rajel Flores, Thomas Goodson, Lauren Griffith, Mary-Stewart Johnson, Kylen Kuslak, Montana Meador, Peyton Mizell, Baylor Payne, Colton Ramsey, Hannah Sanders, Corban Sorrells, Allie Thompson, Erin Tomlinson, Elizabeth Warren, and Brady Weaver.

As in years past, the Student Board program will be designed to introduce students to banking and money management at a critical point in their lives, and provide them
with the essential economic building blocks to earning, spending, saving, and investing money. The students will be challenged this year to test their innovation and creative
skills with a program entitled ‘Back to Basics.’ The student board members will have eight months to help the bank design a digital episode of its TBT Shorts web series.

Texas Bank and Trust established the Student Board – its first and most enduring financial literacy program – in 1978. Students were selected based on their grade point average, extra-curricular activities, and afterschool work activities. Students must submit an essay with their application as well as two letters of recommendation from either a faculty member or administrator to be considered for the program. Students accepted into the 2016 Student Board program were notified in late May. Since its inception, the Student Board has introduced more than 1,800 high school seniors to banking and money management.

For information on how to participate in the 2017-2018 Student Board program, students in their junior year of high school may contact Assistant Vice President Milinda

Pinson at (903) 881-1302.
