Lindale High School competed this past week-end at the state UIL Policy Debate Tournament at the University of Texas in Austin. Jonas Thrasher-Evers won the Golden Gavel Award as the top speaker in 5A in the state of Texas. Jonas and his partner Alec Ramsey also won the state championship for 5A for the second year in a row. Lindale closed out the finals winning the silver medals also with Ronak Desai and Anthony Wyatt. Coach Rory McKenzie and UIL Coordinator JaniceCaldwell were there to share in the excitement.
