Debate wins district CX and SAR contests

Today was the first day of UIL Academics competition.  Lindale won EVERY SINGLE ROUND today!  We took first, second, and third place and had the tournament’s top speaker.  Our first and second place teams advanced to the UIL State Meet (which takes place in mid-March).
First CX Debate – Alec Ramsey and Jonas Thrasher-Evers
Second CX Debate – Ronak Desai and Anthony Wyatt
Third CX Debate – Skylore Evans and Mason Nash
***Jonas was the top speaker, earning perfect speaker points in all of his rounds!  (All six our kids finished as the top six speakers in the district.  In total there were eight teams and 16 speakers.)
Two students  competed at the Joseph Rumbaugh Sons of the American Revolution Oratory Contest in Tyler.  Griffon James placed third and received a $75 scholarship.  Corban Sorrells won the contest, earning a $300 scholarship and a trip to Dallas for state in March!
