Can Food Drive Nets Impressive Results

Food cans have been turned in and the winner of this year’s canned food drive is Katy Lyles’ class with a total of 954. In total, 2473 cans were collected. Paige Ridge’s class collected 896 and came in second, and Lindsay Kelly’s class came in third with 255.

“It’s really great that we can come together to help the community,” Student Council sponsor Renee Ramsey said. “It’s fun to get people in the spirit of the holidays because it’s a friendly competition among the students.”

They will be taking the food to the Lindale Christmas Helpers to help with the daily food baskets.

“As the Student Council president, I am so proud of our student body,” Sadie Akin said. “It’s very nice and fun to see our student body working together.”
