The Top 10 Sushi Rolls

There are hundreds of sushi rolls out there. Some better than others, but a lot of good ones to choose from. However, I am going to pick just 10 rolls to claim the spot of the top 10 sushi rolls. Of course, this is just my opinion, and if your favorite roll is not listed then do not be offended. But, you might want to take my advice and try some of these out.

Number 10:  Dynamite Roll (made with sushi rice, seaweed, mayonnaise, caviar, teriyaki eel, salmon, and teriyaki sauce)

The Dynamite Roll is like a very basic roll trying to be good. It’s okay, but there are better. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll cleanse my sushi craving, but it is just average.

Number 9: California Roll (made with avocado, rice, crab, cucumber, and seaweed)

The California Roll is like the training wheels of sushi. You test it out to see if you would like actual sushi. Everyone likes it, but I havent met anyone who says that their favorite roll is a California Roll. And if it is… you should try other rolls out there, trust me.

Number 8: Philadelphia Roll (made with sushi rice, seasoned rice vinegar,

seaweed sheets, smoked salmon, and cream cheese)

The Philadelphia roll is like the California roll but better. It provides a bit more flavor. It’s not my favorite, but it’s not the worst. There’s not much to say about this one, it is just plain, but it’s a step from the California roll.

Number 7: Spicy Tuna Roll (made with sashimi grade tuna, sesame, sriracha sauce, topped with some spicy mayo)

The spicy tuna roll is another classic sushi roll, but it is a good kind of basic. I am not a huge fan of tuna, so I put it lower than some people may. But everyone can agree that spicy tuna is at least top 10. It has spice, flavor, and it’s like the jack of all trades but master of none.

Number 6: Alaska Roll (made with seaweed, sushi grade salmon, crab,

sriracha, cucumber, and avocado)

I wanted to put this one higher, but I didn’t realize how unliked this roll was until I asked around. It has salmon, which I love, avocado, which I love, and panko, which I love.

Number 5: Spider Roll (made with avocado, rice, soy sauce, cucumber, crab, seaweed, and salt)

So, I’m not a huge fan of this roll, but it is so popular I kinda have to put it on the list. It’s a classic, it’s a good roll, but not my favorite.

Number 4: Boston Roll (made with avocado, shrimp, cucumber, seaweed and

rice)

The Boston roll is another popular roll. It has shrimp, a type of sauce, and sometimes fish eggs. It’s so good. It’s like the California roll but 100 times better.

Number 3: Rainbow Roll (made with cucumber, avocado and crab, salmon, seaweed, and rice)

Now, the Rainbow Roll is very different from the basic California roll. It adds a bunch of flavor and a bit of spice to it. It’s one of my favorite rolls, however I think that there are more deserving rolls to take the next spots.

Number 2: The Dragon Roll (made with avocado, cucumber, rice, seaweed, spicy mayo, and unagi sauce)

The Dragon roll is a sushi roll I would never recommend to someone who is “new” to sushi, but it is super super good. I was debating this one to be first, but it just is a little too niche of a roll to take the first spot.

Number 1: Spicy Shrimp Roll (made with rice, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and spicy sauce”

This is my personal favorite sushi roll. It has a good amount of spice and shrimp is so good on sushi. I know a lot of people who say their favorite roll is spicy shrimp. I just love it and I haven’t met anyone to disagree with me.
